I am sorry to announce that as of today May 1st, 2024, I am officially ending my campaign for Portland City Council. I do not have the resources to run an effective campaign against an ever-widening field of committed candidates. I want to thank everyone who supported me, and I hope that Portland will elect strong progressive voices to lead the city to a better place.

Vision
Portland is evolving. The past three years have forever changed the dynamics of our city. We can't ignore the problems facing our inner city, but not at the expense of the vast majority of our citizens who live and work outside of "downtown". The vitality of our neighborhoods has been and will continue to be the heart and soul of what makes Portland the city we love.

We must and we can:
-
Provide real treatment for those with mental health issues.
-
Provide safe, healthy housing for all regardless of financial condition.
-
Implement free education and training beyond high school.
-
Reform and rebuild our police department.
-
Create a municipal bank to finance small businesses and community development projects.
-
Force corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes.
-
Install municipal broadband for all Portland residents.
In 2021, 193 people died on the Portland streets, of more than 5,200 known unhoused people. That number is now close to 8,000. Rampant and open drug use, uncontroled theft and vandalism, risng rents and almost daily gun related deaths are driving people to leave Portland.
It is easy to focus on the problems. My job as commissioner is about Solutions. It takes leadership and teamwork. I spent my career helping organziations, both public and private, solve complex problems, develop servant leaders and build strong effective teams.
